Don Pianta’s Office
After Chapter 2, you will need to go to Don Pianta’s Office for the Blimp Ticket. To avoid paying many coins for this information, first go to the Item Shop on the West Side of Rougeport and buy a dried shroom and a dizzy dial (in that order). The Boo will now ask you what colour your moustache is, and you need to reply ‘yellow’. Boo will say that the wrong question was asked, and ask what your favourite colour is, to which you must again answer, ‘yellow’. Boo will acknowledge that you know the password and allow you to enter the door on the Left side of the room. Enter to climb stairs to Don Pianta’s Office.

Don't use first strike, but rather run into the Crazee Dayzee. You should meet an Amazy Dayzee more regularly with the three Crazy Dayzees doing it this way.

Level Up Faster
Best results after Chapter 6, with a fully levelled Yoshi. You also need a Power Plus and Power Plus P badge equipped, so your attacks will make the kills in one shot.
Go to Twilight Path and enter the forested areas. Have Yoshi as your partner.
Find a Crazee Dayzee and use a ground slam jump on it as a first strike. If you're lucky, the battle will contain 2 Crazees and one Amazy Dayzee. Your first strike should kill the first one.
Switch the order of your characters and have Yoshi Gulp the Dayzee in front, getting rid of it.
Attack with Art Attack on the remaining Amazy and be rewarded with 40 exp.
Finding Amazy’s are difficult, but if you keep entering the courtyard to Creepy Steeple, the enemies will reset.

Pit of 100 Trials Overlook and Tips
Attempting this at a very low level is possible, but also extremely difficult. Be sure to prepare everything in advance- bring plenty of high recovery items for your HP and FP- Ultra Shrooms for Mario, and Whacka's Bumps for your ally. Strong attack items like Thunder Rage and Shooting Star will come in handy during the later levels. Also, mastering the Superguard technique takes some time, but will really help you in the long run. Even HP lost in the lower levels can end up causing problems later. As for your badge setup, Power/Defense Plus badges are excellent, and HP/Flower Finder will help conserve your items. Piercing Blow and Power Bounce are great attack badges, and can eliminate some powerful enemies in one hit. Peekaboo shows you enemy HP without tattling, helping to better plan your moves. Spike Shield can be obtained after chapter four, and while all it does is broaden your list of jump victims, it can mean the difference between a pathetic battle and a Mario beating in the higher levels...
And lastly, it is recommended that you battle to level 50 and then leave. Having the Strange Sack ahead of time lets you prepare for the long haul much more efficiently, and not be very strict about what items are brought.
Levels 1 - 10: Extremely easy. None of these enemies can give you a hard time. They will show up in large groups though, so just plow through them all at once with Koops.
Enemies: Gloomba, Spinia, Spania, Dull Bones, Fuzzy
Reward: Sleepy Stomp
Levels 11- 20: Again, extremely easy. You may have to shuffle your party characters around a bit, as certain enemies may be out of range or immune to certain attacks.
Enemies: Paragloomba, Dark Puff, Cleft, Pider, Pokey
Reward: Fire Drive -this will help you if you're at a low level, and up against stronger enemies.
Levels 21 - 30: The enemies are not much stronger here, but still enough to raise the bar for a low-level Mario.
Enemies: Spiked Gloomba, Bob-Omb, Lakitu, Bandit, Boo
Lakitus can be a pain in the ass, because they'll keep bringing Spinies into the fight, and can prevent overhead attacks. Pick them all off in a single hit!
Reward: Zap Tap -this badge injures direct attackers, but more importantly, prevents your HP from being drained by leeching enemies. Useful only with specific enemies.
Levels 31 - 40: Now you have to start being careful, and putting the Superguard to good use.
Enemies: Dark Koopa, Shady Koopa, Hyper Cleft, Flower Fuzzy, Parabuzzy
Parabuzzies will shrug off a lot of attacks if they aren't strong enough, but if you flip them all over repeatedly (rather than focusing all on one at a time) they'll do nothing to you. Defeat any Shady Koopas you find and don't leave them on their backs- they'll plow through both of you for decent damage, and get an attack boost as they get back onto their feet. Defeat any Flower Fuzzies first, as ever FP counts for this challenge.
Reward: Pity Flower
Levels 41 - 50: The bar is raised just a little bit. The prize at the end of these levels is probably the best thing you can find in this entire sidequest.
Enemies: Dark Paratroopa, Ember, Bulky Bob-Omb, Spiny Parabuzzy, Poison Pokey
Only two things to watch out for- Dark Paratroopas have a very fast and accurate First Strike attack, and the Spiny Parabuzzies, who cannot be hit unless you use an item, Earth Tremor, Art Attack, Vivian's Shade Punch, Flurrie's Lip Lock, or Spike Shield. Nothing terribly difficult about this set of floors.
Reward: Strange Sack -Doubles your inventory space, allowing you to hold 20 items. A must have. Leave and replenish your supplies, and buy more of them to fill up. You won't regret it.
Levels 51 - 60: Now the enemies are getting to be pretty strong, and might take more than a single hit to destroy. You'll want your party members Ultra Ranked by now, and your badge setup should be good for the long haul. Make sure you have plenty of BP, and badges that increase your strength should take priority over beneficial side effects.
Enemies: Badge Bandit, Dark Boo, Red Chomp, Ice Puff, Moon Cleft
With badges like Jumpman and Power Plus equipped, you might be able to take out the Badge Bandit's 12 HP in one hit. Don't let any run away, because the pipe will not spring and you'll have to battle them all over again, with any damage you incurred the previous encounter. Moon Clefts have very high defense, but Yoshi is excellent at taking them out, as is Bobbery at rendering them helpless. Dark Boo and Ice Puff are nothing too special, but they can become invisible or freeze you, respectively. Red Chomps are no match for Gulp.
Reward: Double Dip -being able to use two items at once has a few great benefits, but it'll cost some FP. Handy if you need to heal both Mario and his partner, or use two attack items, or heal and attack, etc.
Levels 61 - 70: The enemies start getting serious now. Hopefully you've mastered the Superguard, as you're going to start needing it to avoid coming out of battles with a lot of HP missing. Spare your FP on these enemies and resort to powerful normal blows. Wear your Spike Shield from now on, as Dark Craw and Lakitu are easier to deal with while it's equipped.
Enemies: Dark Lakitu, Frost Piranha, Dark Craw, Dry Bones, Dark Wizzerd
Again, the enemies are pretty strong, and one of them, the Dark Craw, has a whopping 20 HP. It's always alongside other enemies or in groups of 3, so bring out the hard hitting attacks, like Piercing Blow. Dark Lakitu also poses problems, having 13 HP, now being able to charge its attacks, and tossing the much improved Sky Blue Spiny instead. They also come in groups of 3 or teams, and often hold Thunder Rages. To spice things up even more, the Dry Bones will regenerate if you don't finish the battle quickly (Bobbery and Vivian can destroy them completely), Frost Piranha will freeze you with its bite, and Dark Wizzerd creates clones if it's singled out. A cheap Power Shell from Koops will expose the real one. When dealing with 4 Dry Bones, don't waste your time and HP with them- use Art Attack instead. Lastly, here's what to expect from the Dark Wizzerd's wide array of moves: A standard hand-jabbing attack, striking both your characters with lightning, rendering itself invisible, increasing its size and attack power, and raising its defense.
Reward: Double Dip P -now your partners can use two items at once, too.
Levels 71 - 80: These next levels can be a cinch, or a total nightmare. Get out that Spike Shield badge and perhaps you can avoid the latter. Your FP will be consumed in high quantities from now on if you want to dispose of enemies quickly.
Enemies: Wizzerd, Dark Koopatrol, Swoopula, Phantom Ember, Chain-Chomp
Dark Koopatrol have 25 HP, great defense and attack, and you'll often face more than one together. They can't be jumped on normally and will charge their attack to be insane. Here's where Spike Shield REALLY shines. Flip them onto their backs like any other Koopa to be completely helpless, then take out any other enemies. As they leap back up, flip them again. Of the other enemies, only the Wizzerd may pose problems, having high defense and attack. It uses all of the moves as Dark Wizzerd in addition to being able to heal itself and allies, but it will not create clones when alone, thankfully. Chain-Chomps are very strong and also pack high defense, but fodder to Gulp. Phantom Embers will burn you and come in large groups, but are fodder to Bobombast. Swoopula are easy pickings to begin with, and their attack is easy to Superguard- right after the second sucking noise finishes. Ignore them and go after the tougher enemies.
Reward: Bump Attack -plow through weaker enemies, killing them instantly, but not gaining any exp. It won't have any effect while you're still inside the Pit.
Levels 81 - 90: Only four enemies on these floors, but they make up for it with great HP and really high attack. However, all of them use attacks that are very easy to Superguard with good timing. Don't bother with regular blocks, because you'll still be in for a powerful hit. Spike Shield also shines on this floor, letting you open battles with a strong Spin Jump.
Enemies: Here's what you're up against, and how to deal with them:
Spunia: 12 HP, 7 attack, 2 defense. They come in big groups of 4 or 5, so either use Koops' Shell Slam to get big damage ignoring defense and then an item to finish the job, or an Art Attack. If you're confident of your Superguarding, take your time and single them out. Occasionally there will only be three of them at once, or accompanying different enemies.
Arantula: 16 HP, 7 attack, no defense. They'll either lob a single shot at you, or 3 shots at 5 damage apiece. Their positions on their strands of web may make it easier or more difficult to Superguard, but to do away with them all at once- bring out Yoshi, and use Power Lift. If you can get a good attack boost (with two Power Plus Ps and an Ultra Rank Yoshi, you need only a +2. Without that, you need at least a +4), one of Yoshi's Stampedes should wipe them all out, preventing a lot of damage. The battle will be much longer and possibly more painful if you single them out. They always come in groups of 4, or two of them will accompany a third different enemy.
Dark Bristle: 8 HP, 8 attack, 4 defense. Remember those normal Bristles from before? These guys can't be jumped on, and any frontal attacks will be countered with a painful spear, with the exception of Koop's shell. If you don't have Spike Shield equipped, only items, star specials and Koops can damage them. Spike Shield saves your items and stars, and a Shell Slam from Koops will finish the job. If Koops is Ultra Ranked and has two Power Plus Ps in effect, you need only a Shell Slam to wipe them out. These nasty little enemies appear in groups of 2 or 3, usually along with different baddies.
Piranha Plant: 15 HP, 9 attack, no defense. Last but not least, this little bastard. Its attack is really all you have to worry about, as it hurts. A lot. The Arantula-disposing strategy also works very well here, and a Spin Jump can destroy them in a single hit. Piercing Blow, provided your attack is high enough, also does the trick. These guys appear in groups of 4 Piranha Plants, or with two different enemies.
Reward: Lucky Day -after all that abuse, you get this awesome badge. It costs 7 BP to wear, but it gives Mario a nice evasion boost that lasts the entire battle. Very handy, and I recommend equipping it immediately.
Levels 91 - 99: You're almost done. Go ahead and take your Spike Shield off; you don't need it any more. These enemies are all very strong, and will take a lot of abuse to bring down. You'll probably end up having to use some of your items on these floors, but be sure to save a few healing items! You also might gain a level or two just on these floors alone- if you know a level up is on its way, go all out and waste whatever FP and SP you need to bring down the house. Supernova will serve you well.
Enemies: Elite Wizzerd, Swampire, Poison Puff, Bob-ulk, Amazy Dayzee
Your biggest problem is the Elite Wizzerd, with 12 HP, 8 attack and 5 defense. GET RID OF THEM FIRST AT ALL COSTS. They'll shrug off a lot of hits, know every move in the book of wizzerds, appear in large groups, use items like Ultra Shroom and Shooting Star, and make good old annoying clones when they're alone. Art Attack and Shell Slam are your best friend in dealing with them. Swampires have a whopping 20 HP, and will drain 6 HP per attack. A lot of health, yes, but Zap Tap stops them from absorbing any HP, and their attack is still easy to Superguard. Poison Puffs have 15 HP and 8 attack, but they aren't too nasty a threat. Their rush attack is easily Superguarded, and their charged attack (dealing 10 damage to both of you) can be avoided with Vivian's Veil. Yoshi's Power Lift/Stampede strategy will rid you of all of them instantly. Bob-ulks are the least of your worries here. They may explode with 16 attack power, but they'll take 4 turns to pull this off- more than enough time to get rid of them, even in large groups. Lastly is Amazy Dayzee. 20 HP, 20 attack, 1 defense. Very fast to run, as you know. Even if Elite Wizzerds are alongside it, go after these guys first! Art Attack will do the job along with another attack, or if you face two of them in the same battle, Supernova and another attack. After they're gone, deal with any other enemies. Pray for a lot of these.
Level 100: After the 99th floor, you'll plunge straight into battle with the most difficult boss in the game. Prepare before going down that pipe, as you can't once you're down there. Ditch any badges like Spike Shield, Zap Tap or Heart Finder, as they serve you no purpose any longer. Make room for Feeling Fine and Feeling Fine P, for it will protect you from his attacks' side effects. Keep Lucky Day and Quick Change, or at the very least, just Quick Change. Peekaboo should be dropped- Tattle him instead. Flower Saver and Double Dip are somewhat handy here, and any Pretty Lucky badges will do so, too. Keep any Defense and Power Plus badges you have equipped. Now, enter the pipe...
Enemies: Bonetail. 200 HP, 8 attack, 2 defense. His attacks are:
Stomp- Superguarded when his foot is right above your head, during that extremely brief pause.
Bite- Not so easy to Superguard, but catch him as his face is rushing at yours.
Dragonbreath- This is what makes the battle so difficult. He has several different color breath attacks, one for every status ailment in the game, including Sleep, Freeze, Confused, and even Tiny status. This attack actually isn't too hard to Superguard.. ..if you know what the correct timing for the block is. Press B instead. These inflictions put a really nasty halt to your success, especially if you're frozen or sleeping. Confusion only makes it very frustrating.
Healing- Occasionally, Bonetail will recover 20 HP. Not really an issue, as a good player will negate almost all of this during the next turn, anyway.
Go all out on this freak. Use your most powerful attacks, such as Bobbery's explosions. I like to constantly keep a burn on him with Vivian, just because it's something extra, and then switch back to Bobbery for more attacking. Flurrie's Lip Lock deals good damage that ignores defense, and keeps her healed. Pulling it off superbly will negate Bonetail's damage for every hit, so you might like keeping her in front. Power Lift will make Yoshi's attacks and Power Bounce worthwhile, and the Mega Rush P badge will make Yoshi extremely strong- just be sure to have a Boo's Sheet on him- otherwise he'll be taken out much too quickly. If you don't want to use Supernova, save your SP for Sweet Feast. Pull off all the Stylish moves you can. If one of your allies is KOed and you don't have a Life Shroom, switch them out for another and keep on attacking. Above all, try to avoid Bonetail's side effects, and if you're caught under them, heal as soon as they wear off. Feeling Fine badges will take a lot of the pressure off you. Just keep Mario healed sufficiently, always keep yourself above at least 30 HP (preparing for the worst in case you're stalled by an ailment) and attack every chance you get. Hopefully you didn't use all of your items on the previous battles, and Double Dip enables you to heal while still getting an attack in. If you prevail, Bonetail will finally collapse...
Reward: For toppling the nasty Bonetail he'll cough up the Return Postage badge, from inside a chest which somehow was inside his stomach, despite the fact that it totally defies logic. This costs 7 BP to wear, and counterattacks for half the damage any enemies do. Boo enemies, Dark Craw and the dragon bosses are not affected by this.
