If you eat birds with Yoshi, you'll get the following:
Blue Birds: blue coin
Green Birds: yellow coins
Yellow Birds: shine

Build up Your Lives
While in Delfino Plaza, go to the area where the big red canon is that shoots you to the Amusement Park. Instead of jumping in the canon, jump in the water in between the platform with the canon and the platform with only the manhole on it. Dive under the water and you will see a square with a 1-UP mushroom. After you get the mushroom, just go into any warp to any land, and once you are there press start and go to "EXIT AREA". Now go back into the water to see the mushroom has returned. Keep doing this to build up on lives.

Extra Coins
Stand in the middle of a circle of flowers after ridding yourself of the pesky fat ones that pop out. Change to the squirt nozzle and switch view with "Y" (I think). Move the control stick to the right (or left) while squirting with "R". This will earn you about 6 coins.

Extra Lives
While in Delfino Plaza, collect 100 coins. Go to the roof and approach the man standing by the weather vane. Pay him 1 coin to throw you, then collect another coin to reach 100 coins for another life. Repeat.

Over 30 Lives
Go into Pianta Village and play Piantas in Need. If you’re doing this for the first time, you will get blue coins. Otherwise, you just keep doing the level. First, you free each Pianta. Then, you talk to them and they will each give you lives (there are ten Piantas so you will get ten lives). Finally exit, and repeat this.

Special Stage (Motor Nozzle Version)
After getting the motor nozzle. Use it to burst through the doors guarded by two police officers. You'll be able to play in a level by playing through a cool course with your motor nozzle and get a shine sprite. The stage is always playable.

Special Stage (Rocket Nozzle Version)
Find a boat that usually starts off from the deck near the shine sprite gate. Hop on until you're under a bridge. If you can see, there's a line of coins in the square-shaped hole. Use your Rocket Nozzle to go up there. You'll end up in a pinball-like stage where you have to use your nozzle to capture all the red coins to get a shine sprite. This stage can also always be playable.

Swimming Hints
In some episodes of Noki Bay, you get a diving helmet. Explore underwater with it since it makes you go down further on less air.
When doing underwater episodes, stay near a bunch of coins to stay alive longer. Dont fill your life meter all the way with coins unless you are about to lose.

Turbo Nozzle
If you are doing Noki Bay and you don’t know where the Turbo Nozzle is, check under "Grandpa's" usual standing spot next to the waterfall. Hang over the ledge and let go. Immediately press "R" to use the hover nozzle and hover safely to the turbo nozzle.

Yoshi Hints
Yoshis can eat most of your enemies, including ghosts. They hate water though, and will disintegrate if submerged in it.
To get to the lily ride, get Yoshi onto the island where the fruit lady is. Feed him a few times and wait for the boat. Ride it to the high post and feed him a banana until the other boat comes. This will carry you to the warp pipe that leads you to the lily pad ride.
You can only get rid of the yellow wavy stuff with Yoshi juice. Don’t waste water on that.
