It should be an option players individually can turn on and off or make a setting that applies for all players. 4-man matches aren't that hard to keep track of, especially when there usually is a logo indicating which player is which.
It would be cool to see non-recolored outfits, though that would probably take extensive amounts of time to design and to program.
I would also like to have stock per player options that allow some players to have more stock than others. I loved playing with friends with us all 1 handicap against the ultimate 9 handicap Bowser com.
