Well, you could technically argue that most characters other than Cecil in FFIV were 'temporary', but I was mostly saying that because I consider the 'main' party to be the party that fights Zeromus: Cecil, Kain, Edge, Rydia, and Rosa.
Delita is good, too. It's funny, there really aren't any other guests...the other guests end up joining your party in Tactics.
