Skills: Excellent marksmen, blademaster, and tactician.
Arcane skills: Demon magic, also uses his Will to do just about anything he wants.
Back story: 90th in the new line of Rivan Kings, since all Heirs after Geran developed Sorcery the Rivan Kings were thence called "Garion" and then "Belgarion" once they reached the throne. Starting with Belgarion the 42nd, the rule of Rivan shifted to an elected Assembly of Lords and the Rivan Warder, selected by the heir and the Orb to keep up with the times, which correspnded roughly to our 1820, just without the slaves. The Kingship changed to Generalship of the Alorn and Sendarian armies, but was only really granted any authority if the Heir showed any skill in warfare, otherwise generals appointed by the assembly and Brand took charge. He still retained all powers granted by the Accords of Vo Mimbre, although they are rarely used and the Heir usually leavs them to the generals.
