Launch Party Quote: Today, in a rain soaked New York City, the Mushroom Kingdom descended upon the Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Plaza for the launch of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The event was a must for any Mario fan, as they were able to purchase the game (one day in advance of the rest of the country), participate in a Super Mario Bros. tournament for some fabulous prizes, take a trip down memory lane by getting in some playtime with the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, get a picture taken with the man himself, Super Mario, and even listen to some great tunes from the in-house Super Mario DJ.
There was also a Super Mario Bros. Museum, which housed a collection of items (lunch boxes, bed sheets, blankets, bath products, ect.) from the illustrious history of the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
The event, even in the rain, was a lot of fun, and the weather didn't seem to dampen the spirits of everyone in attendance, especially those who were waiting outside in the rain (some up to two hours) to purchase the game.
