The country's government had reportedly decided to force the game to be recalled from store shelves until the controversial "No Russian" level could be removed. As it turns out, this simply isn't the case.
An Activision rep said in a statement to VG247, "Reports that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been banned in Russia are erroneous." Even the detail that there are console versions in Russia was inaccurate, with the rep adding, "Activision only released a PC version of the game in Russia which went on sale on Tuesday, Nov. 10."
This isn't likely to make the people who feel the No Russian level shouldn't be in the game feel any better. But at least PC gamers in Russia will be able to play the game uncensored. | JUST KIDDING. __________________  |
