Soul Calibur works well as an arcade series. It's accessible to play, with a wide variety of characters, fighting styles, and arenas. It's so simple, though, I couldn't recommend it for anyone expecting it not to be shallow, because it is in a big way. And the voice acting, did they force the programming staff to do those voices or what?
But Tekken is similar to SC, sure. It's soooo clunky, though, I don't see the appeal. You play Marvel VS Capcom 2 or something, you get your ass kicked because the computer literally beat you to the punch or owned you with a more powerful move. Every time I've played Tekken, man, it's like I'm getting my ass kicked in slow motion because I didn't realize you have to initiate every move 5 seconds in advance of wanting it to occur. Its engine feels like a wrestling game, in a bad way.
