I totally did this with guitar/vocals. You really need a stand though; I started off by hanging the mic from the ceiling, which is just stupid. I eventually got a busted up mic stand that I patched together with some tape, a test tube clamp, and some pliers. I can pass the lower-to-mid tier songs on expert, three stars most of the time. If I know the song (i.e. I've memorized the lyrics), I can usually pull off four stars. I did manage to get gold stars on "Monkey Gone to Heaven" with guitar/vox, so now I love that song.
An unexpected fun part of doing guitar and vocals is that you don't concentrate on your breathing as much, so you end up getting this light-headed euphoria either from hyperventilating or from a lack of oxygen to your brain. |
