I guess in general that's my biggest complaint about Final Fantasy X, the anti-climatic ending of it. I mean the whole
Spoiler Below sad ending because instead of Yuna dying Tidus sort of ceases to exist and all that bittersweetness
, but the whole final boss thing was just too easy. It was too long to be a scripted battle, having to find all your Aeons and then a phony final boss while you cannot die? And was too easy to be a final boss, I mean even Necron, who was sort of a sucky final boss as he had really nothing to do with the story, at least was a challenge. Seems in Final Fantasy IX they have us too much challenge without any substance, we got a difficult final boss but we didn't know why, and then in Final Fantasy X they pull a 180 and we get a boss that has a lot of backstory and substance, but no challenge. Way to totally miss the middle ground 2 times in a row Squaresoft!
