To be perfectly frank, things like an insensitive sense of smell are often familial. If you don't have fully functioning scent receptors, it's very possible that neither do your parents, meaning none of you are necessarily a good judge of possible odors.
For entirely other reasons you should aim at bathing more frequently. Once a week should do you just fine if you're really that disinterested in overcoming your aversion to the shower. In terms of hygiene, as long as you're fastidious about maintaining your health in other ways (washing your hands, general cleanliness, etc), you should be okay.
More people should look into reducing the amount of water they use, either by taking shorter showers, or even skipping a shower once a week ("cat baths" are fine if you need to freshen up). It will do an absolute world of good for sustainability. Not to mention we would instantly be reducing the amount of soap and other bathroom products used, and their packaging. Awesome.
