With Naruto, it would actually be very hard for them to do so without totally confusing everyone. Besides, in a lot of episodes the cuts and edits would only leave around 15 minutes of viewable stuff which just doesn't help when filling a time slot.

Episode 133 of the Naruto anime is easily the best episode of any anime I've ever seen. It was awesome. |
