I can't say I liked the drama of Friends, although I did at least appreciate that the show's not returning to it's original state at the end of each episode did help avoid the formulaic plot: One or more of the main characters gets some weird idea going on ("I don't know, Kramer, this sounds like another one of your crazy plans...") then has it blow up in his face. Brilliant stuff! But as poor as the drama was, it wasn't what made the show for me (or other people). It was just a very funny show.
