There isn't a dog, but there is a yellow flying dragon.
And they don't look like moving cardboard to me. They're fully animated (although some of the characters are weirdly drawn, like Dave).
I've seen maybe ten episodes, and there's three that made me roll my eyes and go "What the hell is this (meep)?"
- The boot camp one
- The zit one
- The "King Dave" one
The "Lady Fang" one was kind of dumb, but at least there were some funny lines in it.
