There were about four different hobgoblins. In the comics, there were two Green Goblins: Norman Osbourne and Harry. The hobgoblin is some guy Harry hired to take up his job before he went insane, if I remember - the Green Goblin is Harry's alter ego. Fitting, too, because Harry's even more of a lunatic than his dad.

And Venom and Carnage aren't very likely candidates for the next movie ebcause you'd have to explain the backstories of the symbiote AND introduce Brock. Beyond that, the villain in the next movie would have to play second fiddle to
a certain someone who we're all familiar with if we've see S-M2. My guess would be the Lizard, because his scientific background (and, if I remember, his working for Oscorp) puts him in a great position to be used in the next film. Even if he doesn't get top billing, any fight involving him would be so cool.
