I saw it earlier this week. This one makes up for Final Fantasy: The Spirits within, but it begins to break up at the end (WARNING: SPOILERS!!!) and they end it quick enough. +Really good animation and art style +Very good fight scenes, as well as the One-Winged-Angel remix. +A perfectly good extension of the Final Fantasy 7 Storyline +The motorcylce chase scenes were just cool. +NO FREAKING HIDEOUS MOOGLE!! +Yuffie, Marlene, Tifa, and Aeris don't have really cheesy, very high-pitched and squeaky voices like most female japanese voice actors do, and Cait Sith's voice is actually pretty decent. +Fans of those boring Turks guys will not be disappointed, they practically have the most screentime! -The scene where Kadaj dies in Cloud's hands in the holy rain was cliched. -This was probably the subbing job but do they even explain why Kadaj and the other two pieces of Sephiroth wanted the children under their control? -Aside from that one fight scene, the main characters besides Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 are just standing in the new airship saying "We're here for the fans' sake." and commentating on what's happening. (HUGE anime/manga/movie/story cliche.) Yuffie just stands there holding Materia and Red XIII just offers as Cait Sith's mount, gets a headache from Cait Sith's arms, and has one line at the very end. Only real exceptions are Tifa and Vincent. I would have preferred for the other characters to have something of a role, not just the people who commentate on what Kadaj really is and how much danger Cloud is in. |
