I might also add that, to make your comic look more "professional", use sprites and backgrounds from the same game, games with similar graphics or, at the very least, games from the same system. It's no use to put SMB Mario in a Super Smash Bros. Melee fight, it would look way awkward.

(Now, Jay uses real life photos, but he downgrades the graphic quality by saving it as a GIF. Besides, the stick people are what makes them comics funny, aren't they?)
