I don't like the second one, but you can tell that it's had more work than the first one. As for the first one, if not hastily, sloppily. It's not the work of a pixel craftsman, taking his time, doing it pixel-by-pixel. I'll tell you that. The second one, just a tip for next time, cloth doesn't fold like that, the mage's hands need shading, a cloth cap doesn't shade like that with that light source, the arms are too short, and are almost entirely detached from the torso. The mage hat has no depth whatsoever. Nor does the ground. Tree leaves or whatever look strange. And how'd you do that sky? The sky doesn't look too pixel-by-pixel to me.
