A lot of people wouldn't consider Joe Strummer and the Mescaleroes to be punk, even though its Joe Strummer. But There's more to punk rock than most people think. Its about musical revolution. Right now, people think New Found Glory and Story of the Year are the new punk, but even though their style is similar to the Ramones, I don't consider it punk at all, because its just a re-hash of everything that's been done before(Its also nowhere near as good as the Ramones). I place it under the category of Wuss-rock. But anyway, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleroes is different, it goes against convention and doesn't conform to the status quo. That qualifies it as punk in my book.
