Now, unlike most high-schoolers, I don't hate it because of the teachers, the rules, the boredom, the subjects taught, or anything like that. I hate the students! Not all of them of course, but I have to say the majority of the ones I know.
Before I start, I guess I'll say that I go to a Catholic school. Now over the last symester I've heard some of the worst ignorant bull I have ever heard in my life, mostly in my civics and religion class where open discussion on issues is encouraged. Almost everyone is a self-righteous idiot, and not to mention the biggest hypocrits ever! Here's just some random qoutes that stick out in my mind:
-"Do you feel sorry for homeless people cause I don't. I mean most of them are just asking money to get more drugs. I read a study that said most homeless people dropped out of school and they just don't want to work."
-"Gay people just want to force their gayness on all of us. They shouldn't be allowed to kiss or hug or hold hands in public, it's just disgusting."
-"If a woman is wearing a slutty outfit and goes around at night in a bad neighborhood she's practically begging to be raped. It's her own fault."
-"People who read the Bible in their spare time are losers who have no life."
-(referring to a teacher who got so frustrated one time with a student that she got really mad and started crying)"She's such a psychopath. I'm actually scared to be around her."
-"Police officers are all racist and corrupt."
-"Homosexuality is unnatural. It's a disease. There's something wrong with their brain, I know there a clinics where you can be treated for it. So I don't see why we have to put up with them."
-"We shouldn't be taught to respect other religions. This is a Catholic school!"
-"Chinese people get their names from banging on pipes and hearing what sound it makes"
-"You're so stupid. Stop acting like such a Jew!"
-"If I had a kid who told me he was gay I wouldn't stand for it. I'd just disown him. I'd just tell him to leave my house and not come back."
-If it were up to me all the gay people in the world would be shot."
-"I think sometimes people just deserve to die. I mean nowadays most of the people in prison want to be in there because its so comfortable, and so they're committing crimes to get in. If they used the death penalty crime rates would drop."
-"We should be allowed to bring guns to school."
-"No teachers care about students."
-"I don't care if I break laws as long as I don't hurt anyone."
-"I hate gay people, but Will and Grace is a hilarious show."
-"Doing drugs doesn't hurt anyone. If more people did it the world would be better."
-"I don't think heaven could be good if you couldn't have sex there."
-"I wish I lived in one of those poor African countries so I wouldn't have to go to school."
And probably many more. You get the point. And its not just some people doing this. The quotes I wrote were said by a variety of people, good and bad students, different races, male and female. Argh, it's so frustrating, I can never get a point across because it's almost always like 3 people against 30. |
