</font>[/quote]That would not ban the 'normal' income tax, which is indirect as long as it's paid by the employer, but it would ban the estate tax, capital gains tax, etc.
Depending on how the Supreme Court ruled, they might consider a means of getting your money back to be direct, in which case it would definitely be a load off Americans' backs.
By legislation, I really meant actual laws, not constitutional law.
