Lore stood scratching his rough-barbed beard as he stood in the center of the park, though not exactly on the ground. Atop the highest branch of a lone tree, he surveyed the sinister reanimation taking place. Low moans turned to growls, growls to screams as the zombies caught sight of him, immediately rushing forward with a vigor in defiance of their health...or lack thereof. "Most peculiar." he thought, leaping from the tree nimbly and landing with a clank as his armor rattled. He sighed as the undead approached rapidly and waved his hand, the cement sidewalk beneath him breaking apart and rising, throwing the fragments out in all directions. The broken concrete smashed through the undead with great force, throwing many backwards several yards, and tearing limbs off others. Lore winced at the pain he knew these beings had to be suffering for their existence. If they ever recovered, he thought, they would only be worse for the survival instincts of those not affected yet. He saw his path cleared, however, and walked calmly to the park exit. He looked about briefly and found more of the corrupted beings walking about, wailing as they saw a live victim. "It's a shame...five hundred and eighty dimensions where I did not have to resort to force for any reason. And here I am slaying the city that most likely held this dimension's one student." he materialized a morning star and leapt into battle, using a bit of his magic to make his battlecry a startling roar that bowled over a few of the nearest, weakest zombies and echoed down many blocks. |
