The federal government is not over the states, nor equal with them. It's a contract between states, and no one party can be the sole interpreter of such. Notice Jefferson Davis was never tried for treason. Maybe because the procecution would be laughed out of court. There's a lot to say about a 93 year old life. Tens of thousands came to see his funeral; tell them they went overboard. Uh, sorry, but I think overthrowing Maryland's legislature and placing New York under martial law was going a little overboard.
