It would have been nice.

*sigh* Why can't villains just come out and admit "yeah, I'm evil. And I'd have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddlin' Americans!" just once? It wouldn't make a difference in his future, and he could at least go out with some panache.

At the very least, he could act like the Nazi he is and continue to denounce everyone who doesn't like him as members of an inferior race, which is the same as admitting you're evil. It's what the Nazis did.

But no. He has to go Perry Mason. Hussein's final act of torture against his people: making them listen to him bloviate for the next year and a half.
