| A Knight's Tale, first & foremost, is a sports film, not a period piece; it just happens to be about a medieval sport. Anachronisms like the music serve both as comedy and to illustrate that time period's view of its own music.
The vocal & guitar for WWRY were definitely the originals; the crowd in the film provided the beat, though.
