| "New Mexico Sludge: Die of Cancer Today!" My experience rocks. However, I have been burned by this topic because I have the evilness of living at home and having both a Community College and a super-powered University just 3 blocks from my hours. Anyway... My school employs a vast number of people, and thanks to this, 3/4 of the teachers are good, and the other fourth are naaasty. You got the German teacher who utters the dreaded "It's my first time teaching here" who gives insanely hard quizzes (harder than the other class by a mile) and teaches you how to write some german, but never has you speak it. Then there's the class that shouldn't exist: COBOL. I took it, thinking it would be useful. I soon discovered that only if I was in the Navy 30 years ago would I have use for it. Plus, it was an online class with so many shifting deadlines, I had to fight to the death to get a B. And now I have a computer instructor who's got a few screws loose and doesn't exactly know what she's teaching. However, the substitute teacher saw me helping clueless students in action and immediately hired me as the highest level TA-sorta job you can get without jumping up a category, so, that rocks. Plus I get to see how his superior night class goes for teaching. All in all, should a miracle happen, I will never have to live in a dorm and may be able to stay employed throughout my entire College experience while living at home. *Shields self from possible assassination bullets* |
