USL is not a Canadian league. USL is one-below MLS in the hierarchy of American soccer leagues. It's actually split into two leagues - USL First Division (which has the Lynx and was known as A-League until 2004) and USL Second Division (which was known as USL Pro Soccer League until 2005).
