The world is full of people who believe that their talents have been frustrated by an unkind fate; they are convinced that they could write, paint, or perhaps excel in music if their lives were only differently ordered. But they lack the resolution to do that necessary reordering. They are not liars, these people, but they are probably deceiving themselves. The talent that is not backed up with sufficient resolution to ensure its expression is only doubtfully existent.
