| .hack//SIGN - One of the greatest animes I've ever seen. I recently took the time to watch it again, and...just wow. Somehow it takes a premise that would seem really stupid (the events take place inside an MMORPG) and makes it into a very deep and emotional story. It's very slow-building and "chatty," but all of the characters are developed well and it's a very satisfying watch. Highly recommended for the patient. edit: it also has some of the best dub VAs I've ever heard; only the Ocean Group dub of Dragon Ball Z has come close to it.
.hack//Roots - The anime portion of the sequel to the .hack franchise. I've only seen a few episodes, so I can't really express a clear opinion on it. What I'm worried about is that so far it doesn't have any kind of important real world correlation; as if the story only concerns the game itself. Hopefully something interesting will come up. |
