Well, Zelda and Impa did both say that the Sheikah were the guardians of Hyrule, and that they possessed strange and mystical powers. So, it's only logical that one of those powers was probably illusion, or the ability to project false images.
Also, Zelda has the Triforce of Wisdom, which also probably gives her some special powers. |
