^On the other hand, though, 'LoZ' at least had the virtue of giving you a constant flow of enemies to fight. There wasn't as much of that in 'WW'; aside from a few dangerous pirate/shark/squid/helicopter-whale-thing-infested stretches of water, the overworld of Flooded Hyrule was a great deal more tame. (Enemy-infested or not, though, I enjoyed the non-structured feel of 'WW'. For some reason, the exploration and side-quests here seemed a great deal more fresh and enticing than in 'OoT' and 'MM'. Some of the islands had a peculiar aura of mystery and the macabre about them, and there was that ghost ship...not to sound like one of those 'Zelda is artistic' weirdies, but I got the feeling of ancient peoples, alien designs, strange and dark tales lurking just beneath the surface. (Maybe I'm just reading too deeply into it.)) |
