I beat Ratchet and Clank a couple nights ago, and thought it was good.
Most people will beat you up for not liking Disgaea. To a lesser extent, some of the the other Nippon Ichi games like La Pucelle, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom.
What I played of Gradius V and Devil May Cry looked promising.
I liked Mega Man X7, except I'm the only person in my time zone who did.
Everyone likes Mega Man X8.
I've never played it, but I should mention how Wyborn wouldn't shut up about Shadow of the Colossus.
