It just doesn't look too great when you just scribble around in different colors. If I were you, I'd try checking out some sites for attack sprites (Check out some of the fighting sprite sites in the "Good sites for spriting needs" topic.).
Other than that, I'm a little confused about how they beat the Mushroom Monster/Warrior. Maybe you should add a little more text elaborating their actions (You know how in some anime the other characters will scream whatever their buddies?).
