As the blasts became uncomfortably close, he became tense and more aware.
This was serious; the ice-breathing Cerberus posed a genuine threat.
He removed his katar and held it in his left hand, eyes not moving from the two in battle. There was a sapphire jewel on the side facing outward, and the blade itself was made of steel and plated with adamantium.
As some of the strange puffball-like fighter's attacks landed, he dashed through the snow-covered ground and made a stab into the Cerberus with his spear.
The wound was deep enough to draw blood but not deep enough to cause major damage and also enough to draw the Cerberus's attention.
He began tugging on the spear before realizing it was stuck.
"Damn!" he shouted while pulling back furiously.
As the Cerberus began to draw its breath, facing Chayim's direction, he lunged to the area in back of the monster, narrowly missing its attack.
As he watched the strange creature battle the Cerberus, he switched his katar to his right hand.
