| Within a moment's notice as the attacker rushed toward her, Yuki had a flashback to training with the priest as a little girl, specifically the evasion exercizes. She remembered being chained to him as he would attack her with a stick and she would have nothing to defend herself quick. Thinking quickly, she attempted to evade Nevan's powerful downward thrust of his sword. Had she not moved a moment sooner, her right arm would've been completely removed, but she was instead left with a rather long slice in her shoulder, not a life threatening injury yet painful nonetheless. However, she had no time to even acknowledge the pain of the cut, as Nevan swung again at her. This time she blocked the swing with her katana. She began to crouch slightly, hoping to draw her opponent into a downward attack. When he started to move, she leapt up into the air and flew backwards nearly fifteen feet, flipping over three times and landing in a kneeling position with her arms spread out to each side, umbrella to the left, sword to the right. Though she appeared calm, she was actually breathing deeply, contemplating her next move. Suddenly she charged forth and began to attack Nevan with her katana, spinning both to the left and right, trying to hit him anywhere she could. However, he was able to block all of her attempted strikes with either his sword or shield. All the sudden, at nearly the same time, both Yuki and Nevan made a stabbing motion with their swords, each of them making a flesh wound near the other's abdomen. However, instead of removing their weapons or trying to push them in further, the two began to pace around in circles, sidestepping each other, in a standoffish way, with the tips of their weapons still slightly poked through the others' skin. Yuki's heartbeat began to accelerate, as she was becoming more and more tense. She continued to stare at her opponent with a haunting, almost homicidal look, as he stared back at her with a look of confidence. |
