For my last (unless somebody feels like actually discussing this with me) ranting on this game, I'm going to go over the ending.

Spoiler Below
The priest is praying over the girl, when the hero teleports in. He looks like a rotting corpse, and he has horns. The priest yells at him for what he has done, and one of the soldiers shoots the kid in the leg, then another stabs him in the heart. He spurts black stuff like a colossus, and goes limping towards the girl with his arm out.

Okay, I'll admit, this hit me pretty hard. But if you're going to do something to grip the player's heartstrings, do not follow up with an acid bath that takes the entire ending down with it.

Spoiler Below
The boy yanks out the sword and turns into a giant shadow colossus.

...okay, whatever hallucinogen Ueda took before is starting to kick in.

Spoiler Below
The voice declares that the Dormin were just using the boy to break their seal, because they're evil.

Like we didn't see that coming.

Spoiler Below
For a second you get to control the shadow and pound your fist, but all you can do is wait for a cutscene.

And the purpose of gaining control over this when you could just have a cutscene with the same purpose is...?

Spoiler Below
The priest and the soldiers run away, up the spiral staircase. The priest takes the sword, and lobs it into the pool at the bottom of the staircase. This creates a vortex that sucks up the shadow like dust in a vacuum.

Law of Dumbass Seals: An evil will be sealed, then reawakened, then effortlessly sealed again in a way that it can never be reawakened again, leaving the player wondering what the point of all that was.

Spoiler Below
The priest and his men take off, and as they're running, parts of the bridge are magically vainishing in a flash of light, causing the bridge to collapse behind them.

I have to wonder; why was there even a bridge made between the two lands? In the event somebody wanted to go see how the seal was doing? To invite people into the land to break it?

Spoiler Below
You gain control of the shadowy figure of the hero, but there's nothing you can do to keep from being sucked into the pool.

Again, the purpose of controlling instead of watching this is...?

Spoiler Below
The priest and the soldiers make it to the end of the bridge, and the priest says something about the hero repenting what he has done.

And the priest should repent their horrible security which allowed the kid to steal the sword in the first place and took them so long to react (or, judging by the intro, for telling the kid about the colossi in the first place).

And here comes the part that ruins the entire ending as if it wasn't already limping.

Spoiler Below
The girl wakes up, wanders around for a while, finds the horse limping around...

Uh, the horse survived that fall? How and why?

Spoiler Below
... then she walks over to the pool the priest threw the sword into and finds A BABY in it.

Dear Uedasan: Unless you are writing comedy, it is not a good idea to rip off a movie that was featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Spoiler Below
The girl takes the baby, she and the horse go outside, find the bridge has collapsed. Do they have to live in this rough environment? NO! As it turns out, the horse knows about this forest paradise on top of the temple and leads the girl up there! There's even a newborn deer fawn that comes to look at the baby!

Yeah, Udea put a lush, forest paradise on top of the Temple of Worship so that somebody can live in relative comfort in a land that's ugly because nobody wants to live in it. We have a word for this. It's called "asspulling".

Where are these lemmings going? Not the Super Nintendo Super Shire! They know to go to Codiekitty.com now!
