If they had IMO we'd be talking about a different marioverse 1 First major change: An item which initially would just grant a no points lost continue would eventually be downgraded to a one up. Expect there to be a few more items in the mario RPGs which are healing/health centered based on the bee/the honey. 2 Ice Stages become even more annoying with the icecicle around and whatever cruel and unusual modification of it that Nintendo makes. 3 The mario enemy bestiary is expanded substantially(look at all the variations we see of koopas/goombas. Now picture THAT being done for the fighter flies and side steppers) 4 Mario's item repotoire is expanded earlier with the hammer being a weapon useable not just in battle. We see the Paper Mario usage of hammers in SMRPG. 5 Rolling barrels implies more industrial/urban states. Perhaps we'd have a mario brothers game precedent to the city stages that sonic the hedgehog is so fond of?(The parts of Wario land II and III which take place in cities are IMO a good hint as to what it would look like) |
