Peeking inside, they're forced outside by the Goomba warband that has claimed the fortress as its own. (You may now attempt to defeat the warband in battle anytime. If you do, the fortress is yours.) After some more exploration, the Koopas find a razed village. It's almost entirely destroyed, and there are no survivors. Strangely, the site seems to have a very dark aura around it. Searching the ruins, they find an old bag of coins. (+35c. The bag is unusable.) (The other results were nothing.) Basic Tactics #2 While other races can sustain 4 units with the resource gathering of 1 (with Money bag), Goombas have a harder time, since each unit can support only itself and two more. However, Goombas have a powerful combat advantage. At the beginning of the game, you'll want to save up for a Stable and a couple Ostros. Get yourself a warband of Ostro riders and raid any villages you find through exploration. That way, you will be able to earn more money than any other race could even dream of by peaceful means!
