^I'm guessing here because I've never seen this glitch before, but every time a red shell is reflected it becomes more powerful(you noticed Mewtwo reflected it once before in the vidio, possibly more before that.) It looks to me like He grabbed both Bowser and the red shell with the same Confusion. The "Shield shatter" sound that you hear is actually Mewtwo's confusion attack shattering, not his sheild, because the red shell was too powerful to reflect because it'd been reflected so many times before. (Sounds weird, but it can happen. It works on every reflective move and can have some really odd results)
Try using Mario's cape, or Fox's reflector on a red shell repeatedly to see something similar.
The trick was that Mewtwo grabed both the super powered red shell and Bowser with the same attack, so when the move shattered, Bowser got stuck.
