For standard titles you should bring in games from the Dragon Quest series. Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean are both great games. Earthbound would fit this category, it's basically spoofing standard RPGs. For Strategy, Ogre Battle. It's different than the games that have "Tactics" in their title. I'm not sure why KoToR is in the Action section, but hey, it's your project. You could possibly put Zelda in this category, as some people refer to it as an action RPG series. I myself have always thought of it as an adventure series with RPG elements. Does Morrowind fit in here? You might want to mention that RPGs in their earliest form were text-based adventures. People are really touchy about plot-twists and stereotypes in RPGs. If there are no plot-twists, it's totally predictable. If there are too many plot-twists, you'll no clue what's going on. Stereotypes in RPGs came in with the precedents set by the first six Final Fantasy games. |
