FFVII was a very good game. It was not the greatest, because there can not BE a greatest. It's all a state of mind. Making a game on cellphones--NOT the wave of the future. If you want a handheld game, go buy yourself a handheld gaming system. I see cellphone games as a fad that may last for a while, but in the long run are doubted to hold their own. Now, I CAN envision some sort of gaming system that doubles as a phone sometime in the future, but not now. That's my take. It seems as though they're trying to milk that game for all its worth--and although I'm looking forward to AC, I'm concerned with what it's going to turn out like. It might end up being just like BC and is just trying to suck all of us dry. OFF-TOPIC BUT STILL SQUARE RELATED--Okay, I'm going to first say something that will utterly confuse some people. I really did enjoy playing Chrono Cross. (???) I liked it, plain and simple. Now, WHY??? That'd be because I played Chrono Cross through before I played Chrono Trigger. I know as a sequel, CC ticked off a lot of people. In essence of gameplay, the creators screwed with the entire system. Yes, I agree. They did manage to work in parts of the storyline to CT, though--Now, don't get mad at me, but I'm still currrently working on CT. (Right now, I'm at the Mountain of Woe.) I don't know how well they integrated it though. A lot of people say that CC, as a standalone, would have been a good game. See, I think it was a good game but it did NOT fulfill the expectations of those that played CT. They were expecting something entirely different. But, if you were like me, you couldn't be disappointed for the same points as CT veterans. There's a difference between fulfilling expectations and being a good game--that is what I personally believe. And if I'd played CT first? I'd probably feel the same as a majority of you here. For once, this is an instance where it might have been better to have played the sequel first. Things might be clearer about the storyline if you'd played CT first... But you really aren't thrown THAT off course if you hadn't.--END OFF-TOPICNESS And FFX? It struck out with some, scored with others. FFX-2 on the other hand--I can't say they made it to get better support for FFX. I'm sorry, I just CAN'T. FFX-2 was just an attempt by Square to attract a new audience. Attempt, anyway--I wonder if it actually attracted or repelled more people...? |
