The water, most likely, acts as a way to dissolve the secret form whether it's graffiti, or his "double". In fact, in this game we may find several Mario clones running around that have to be dissolved by water.
Another example? SMB we had Bowser clones, which were normal goombas, koopas, etc... that looked like Bowser. |
