SM64 2 was put aside by NCL to work on Ocarina of Time. After finishing OOT, the crew was so drained that many projects were canceled. Taking the easy way out, Nintendo figured that they could simply use the same engine as OOT in a different Zelda game. However, the game grew and grew until it took longer than they planned. Zelda Gaiden (Sidequest) grew into its own adventure: Majora`s Mask. By that time, GAMECUBE had already begun development. |
