I like story. If a game has no story, I won't like it as much. Unless it's one heck of a good game, like Melee of course. And the Sonic games for Genesis DID have story! It just wasn't done through text. It was done through the instruction manual and through the characters' actions. For example, I really liked the scene in Sonic and Knuckles where Robotnik takes the Master Emerald. You could actually attack Robotnik in it, but he grabs the emerald and gets away anyway.

The part about the boring ring thingies made me laugh. Collecting rings to open stages to collect Chaos Emeralds isn't just a part of Sonic games, that's almost Sonic itself. Rings = Special Stages = Chaos Emeralds = Good Ending. In Sonic Adventure I recall playing a stage in the casino where it went Special Stages(pinball) = Rings = Chaos Emerald, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle had you collecting the Chaos Emeralds as part of the plotline instead of as optional stages, but that's generally the way it goes.

Would you like them to remove the "boring" boss battles too? Would you like to fight just giant versions of old enemies that are much bigger this time? Why don't we take away the speed too. Oh, it would be much more fun if Sonic just walked everywhere, wouldn't it? (In case you don't know, that's sarcasm.)

I don't have Sonic Heroes, so I won't go over some of these points, but I played a demo and I really didn't like Tails' voice. Tails' voice from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was my favorite. That's exactly what I'd imagine Tails would sound like.

Now I'll stop talking before my post gets in the way of L007's stabbity rage.
