Personally, I thought Sonic Heroes was a very average game. The grinding was.... just horrible. The camera was little better. The controls were improved from SA2:B's annoying double jump glitch. But what was the point in telling you exactly what character to use? Surely the fun would be in figuring it out for yourself, instead of being spoon-fed all the information. Plus, the levels stank of lazyness. They could ahve at least changed the layout for each team, instead of replecating them with slightly different objectives and difficulties. At the most, they could have given each team their own levels. You know, so you aren't playing exactly the same stages over and over again. The voice acting was horrible, though still slightly better than on the previous two 3D incarnations. For some reason, the Fly characters were always the most annoying. But that's minor stuff, really. I just generally didn't enjoy Heroes as much as the other Sonic games. And I can't remember the Mega Drive Sonic games having the probelm of being too fast. At least not often enough to detract from the game. Usually, the hazardous areas were broken up so you couldn't die stupidly like that. I had that problem more with the Advance games, whcih byh the way, I thought were average as well. That's just my opinion. But unfortunately, it seems Sonic Team has twigged that now they can churn out and old rubbish under the Sonic moniker, and the fans will buy it. |
