Question

Just wondering how everyone felt on this one...

Metroid Fusion, 4th in the series, it wasn''t out too long after I had actually discovered the metroid series, much to my delight. I've since completed it, along side Super Metroid, and have briefely played the other two 2D titles.

But one thing that bugs me, as great as the game is, is how fusion seems to break away from the metroid style. I mean the main enemy is no longer the Metroids, there is more of a role playing feel to Samus, now having inner monologues and interaction with Adam, and she looses the suit! Not to mention the clichéd arch rival with all her powers, who then aids her against a bigger threat. Never do I get tired of seeing THAT in games.

I guess the monologues are there to thinken the series, it allows you to relate to our hero more. But I mean Adam the CO seemed a bit tacked on, to my recolection I'd never heard him mentioned since then, and still don't know when he sacrificed himself for her as she mentions. :\

Any thoughts? I've had WAY too much time to contemplate this one, I need a job or something
