A couple more things (I love doing this) I'm sick of spending thousands on a weapon for some mission, then losing the 'leftovers' when I die. I think weapons should be ditched at your hideout, where they could be reclaimed at any time (actually, you can already do this with the security checkpoints at the golf course and airport, to a limited extent). You should also be able to take only a certain amount of ammo- if you're only going to need a few hundred rounds or a single rocket, why risk all the rest? Leave it for later. Similarly, weapons could be bought independantly of ammo. So you could buy a submachine gun for $800, then ammo at, say, 100 rounds for $50. Or, one rocket launcher for $3000, then rockets for $500 apiece. That sort of thing. Of course, your gun would no longer dissapear when it ran out. I think that guns should slow you down regardless of whether or not they are in your hands. Weapons like the pistol or knife that could be put into a pocket would be more or less weightless, while very heavy weapons like the rocket launcher would slow you right down. I don't think these types of weapons should be carried on bikes. There could be a middle category for guns like the shotgun and assault rifle, that could be carried alongside the pistol and would slow you down just a little. I think that some situations would call for guns to be concealed. This could only be done with the very small guns- and even then, security checkpoints or a simple search would reveal them. Any gun could be stashed- hidden in an out of the way place for later (Remember the washroom trick in the first Godfather?). This would be important in planning some missions, if you were to want more firepower than could be concealed or didn't want to have to lug a rocket launcher (that would later be useful) around during a firefight. Also, a heavy, valuable gun such as the minigun could be abandoned when it was no longer useful, then reclaimed. This way, it wouldn't hinder you. |
