I don't see what's wrong with giving him military honors. He did face capture and torture by the enemy.
Being related to Howard Dean probably influenced the investigation, but it didn't make finding the brothet the #1 priority. That's not how the military works.
Anyway the reason it became more of a priority is that the military knew by finding him they would attract more attention towards their cause of looking for missing soldiers in Vietnam. I personally don't care they did this as long as they're looking for other dead soldiers as well. |
