You have to learn to take the punches or you'll never grow. It's okay to get mad at somebody for the like of what you said with your grandfather, but you have to learn when and where to vent. Sometimes you just have to take it when people make fun of you. ****, if I go out in public in my uniform sometimes I have people who come up and call me a baby killer, give me the evil eye, poke and hit me, spit on me(this one only happened once), stomp on my feet, call me all sorts of names that I refuse to say; yes these people who do these things still exist, but they are very, VERY few and far between. You know what, I can't do one damn thing about it because if I even said anything to them it would look bad on the Army's part and I don't want to sink down to their level when I don't have to. I'm proud of what I've chosen to do and I don't let them get me down. Be proud of what your grandfather chose to do, he didn't even know him, he didn't know **** about him. Let it go.
