| Well, I just didn't like any of the concepts from the get-go. Donkey Kong, the game's namesake, is nowhere to be found - the graphics are lower quality than the previous two games - and the gameplay is more of a trial-and-error variety. I just don't think it's up to scratch. I haven't had a full play-through, which has the potential to make me appreciate it more, but I'd really have to get an SNES cart to bother with it. I'll be getting a cart of Diddy's Kong Quest long before I waste any money on a game I've already got a negative opinion of. In the meantime, it's not particularily retro, but SD, Crav, and I were just playing some serious Crystal Chronicles. Plenty of people claim to hate that game, but they just don't seem to appreciate its unique character. I'm very excited about the sequels that are in the works. |
